A
STARTING THE QUERY INDEX
1) From Reactor, select Trickle bed if not done
before.
2) From Database, select Start new query .
The Database: Trickle bed (1) dialog window is obtained.
3) The Database: Trickle bed (1) panel is divided in two
sections, namely the Query index and the Search results table
(Before interrogation, by default, the Search results table contains
the list of all experimental results available in the integrated databank
(20,506 data sets) and user databases (if applicable).
4) The Query index is divided in 11 categorized tabs containing
important information relative to the experimental measurements. A query
based on the following components can be performed.
FLUIDS:
Makes a search based on the liquid and/or gas phase compositions.
OPERATING
CONDITIONS: Contains information on operating pressure, temperature,
liquid mass flow rate, gas mass flow rate, liquid superficial velocity
and gas superficial velocity.
REACTOR:
Contains information on the packing general characteristics (packing type,
packing material, packing wettability, packing microporosity and packing
nominal size) and the reactor properties (column type,
column diameter,
total
bed height,
active bed height, liquid distributor and gas
distributor).
SOLID: Contains
information on the packing physical and thermal properties (bed porosity,
grain specific area, bed specific area, sphere diameter equivalent to volume,
sphere diameter equivalent to surface area, effective particle diameter,
sphericity factor, number of packing units per bed volume, thermal conductivity,
heat capacity and volumetric thermal expansion).
LIQUID:
Contains information on the liquid phase physical and thermal properties
(density,
viscosity,
surface tension, diffusion coefficient,
flow consistency index,
flow behavior index,
thermal conductivity,
heat
capacity and thermal diffusivity). The liquid foaming property defines
whether the liquid is foamy or coalescent.
GAS: Contains
information on the gas phase physical and thermal properties (density,
viscosity,
diffusion
coefficient, thermal conductivity,
heat capacity, saturated
heat capacity, volumetric thermal expansion and thermal diffusivity).
HYDRODYNAMICS:
Contains parameters as well as technical informations about trickle-bed
reactor hydrodynamics. These parameters include the flow regime, pressure
drop, liquid hold-up and liquid axial dispersion. A query can be executed
on the following aspects.
Flow
regime: Liquid superficial velocity at trickle/pulsing transition
flow, Gas superficial velocity at trickle/pulsing transition flow, general
flow regime,
specific flow regime
Pressure
drop: Total pressure drop,
frictional pressure drop,
gravitational
pressure drop, pressure measurement technique
Liquid
hold-up: Total liquid holdup,
dynamic liquid holdup,
static
liquid holdup, liquid holdup measurement technique
Liquid
axial dispersion: Liquid axial dispersion coefficient, liquid
axial dispersion measurement technique, RTD model
MASS
TRANSFER: Contains parameters as well as technical informations
about trickle-bed reactor mass transfer characteristics. These parameters
include the gas/liquid contact area, solid/liquid contact area, gas/liquid
mass transfer coefficients and solid/liquid mass transfer coefficients.
Technical informations concerning the mass transfer experiments are included
in the experimental technique field. A query can be executed on the following
parameters.
Gas-to-liquid
contact area: Liquid/Gas interfacial area, fraction of wetted
area
Solid-to-liquid
contact area: Liquid/Solid interfacial area, wetting efficiency
Gas-to-liquid
mass transfer coefficients: Global gas-side volumetric mass transfer
coefficient, Gas-side mass transfer coefficient, Liquid-side mass transfer
coefficient
Solid-to-liquid
mass transfer coefficients: Liquid-particle volumetric mass transfer
coefficient, Liquid-particle mass transfer coefficient for partial wetting,
liquid-particle mass transfer coefficient, global volumetric mass transfer
coefficient at the reactor's wall, global mass transfer coefficient for
partial wetting at the reactor's wall, mass transfer coefficient for partial
wetting at the reactor's wall, mass transfer coefficient at the reactor's
wall
HEAT
TRANSFER: Contains experimental results about trickle-bed reactor
heat transfer characteristics. A query can be executed on the wall heat
transfer coefficient, particle-to-fluid heat transfer coefficient and radial
effective thermal conductivity.
REFERENCES:
Associated with the reference
source list, a query can be executed based on the publication authors
and keywords.
5) In conjunction with the reference source list ,
the Search results table contains the data source references with
the corresponding number of data fulfilling the query specifications.
