STEP 1 - Install Java

You must have a Java run-time or development environment (JDK) compatible with Java 2 Platform installed and running on your machine . It should be v1.3 or higher. The Multi_R_Designer software has been tested on v1.3.0. These are freely available for many platforms. Follow this link to Sun Microsystems, Inc. for more information on Java and links to Java run-time environments for Solaris, Linux and Windows.

You can verify which version you are running by typing:

>java -version

STEP 2 - Download Multi_R_Designer 1.0 demo

MultiRDemoInstall.zip (5.9 MB)
For any plateform with a compatible Java 2 Plateform.

STEP 3 - Start the Installation of Multi_R_Designer 1.0 Demo

Windows

Rename the file extension from .zip to .jar. After that you can start the application by clicking on the file in your explorer. If that does not work, use the general method.

General method

You can start it manually by typing the following line in the command shell.

> java -jar MultiRDemoInstall.zip

or

> java -cp MultiRDemoInstall.zip setup

STEP 4 - Follow the installation process

The Welcome screen appears. Fill in the requested information, clicking Next after completing each screen.

STEP 5 - Run the software

On Windows, you just have to click on the Multi_R_Designer.jar file to start the application. If it does not start or if you are on another platform you can start it manually by typing the following line in the command shell.

> java -jar Multi_R_Designer.jar
